A dark metallic surface combines bright broad reflections with mottled fine-scale imperfections. The preview helps compare its grain, color and surface character before applying it to a modeled object.
Where this material fits
Use it on industrial housings, equipment panels or a product-render component. Test the surface with a light or environment that produces readable reflections. Build bevels into exposed edges so highlights can describe the underlying object.
Evaluate Metallic and Roughness together; a dark reflection is not evidence that the surface should be treated as a non-metal.
