A rough pale stone for weathered details

Rough Chalky White Limestone has a visibly uneven white surface with shallow cavities, irregular lumps and broken-looking detail. Compared with a restrained ivory finish, the preview gives this material a stronger weathered character and a less uniform surface response.

Try it on an aged architectural detail, a rough plinth, a wall accent or a substantial stone prop. Use the surface pattern to support the object’s design, and let the modeled shape establish its outline and construction. Inspect both broad faces and edges before selecting it for a close shot.

Included resolution and PBR workflow

The free ZIP provides 2K textures with the PBR Metallic-Roughness workflow. Import the supplied maps into your material and check their roles before assigning shader inputs. This is a texture material for your own geometry; the rendered sphere illustrates its appearance.

Use the PBR Material Previewer for an initial look at compatible local maps. When bringing the material into a renderer or game engine, follow the stone PBR validation checklist to inspect coordinates, channel interpretation and surface detail before adjusting the scene lighting.

Keep rough detail readable

Start on a broad panel and a beveled block at a consistent scale. Compare how the shallow cavities read on a face and how the material behaves as the surface turns away from the light. A pale material can lose visible detail in a very bright view, so use a controlled lighting setup for the first comparison.

Review the material at the intended output size as well as close up. Increasing the apparent size of every surface feature can make a small prop look unlike the reference, even when the texture itself is sharp. Record a useful mapping scale before applying it to several objects in the scene.

Build a pale stone palette

Pair this rough finish with Fine-Pitted Ivory Limestone when you need a calmer neighboring surface. For a different kind of visible texture, compare Open-Pore Cream Travertine, whose irregular cavities create a more porous pattern. Test each material in the same scene to choose where rough relief or finer grain best supports the composition.
